Silver Dunes, White Sands

Silver Dunes, White Sands National Park

March 23, 2021

I have found myself getting loss among the dunes at White Sands. Not directionally lost, only lost within myself. Roaming the rise and fall of the dunes becomes the walking equivalent of calm meditative breathing. On this day that was especially true. The way the dunes reach for the horizon in a way that makes it almost one with the sky had a very serene effect on me as I explored the landscape. After a while the acts of walking and photography become a transcendent activity. I rarely know what I have when I do the photos, but I always come back with images that surprise me.

A five print box set and prints are available HERE
